Appearance[]

Duratus, whilst deactivated, appears a black "gas mass", being about 14 studs tall, and 10 studs wide in size. Duratus has a red aura which surrounds it, the aura seems to shift around and grow in size, making a foggy effect around Duratus' body. The red fog expands rapidly, before shortly fading out afterwards.

Whilst Duratus is active, it gains an eye in the center of its mass, the eye seems to shrink and grow randomly. The eye has a bright red color, and expands across most of Duratus' center. It has a full black pupil in the center of it.

Duratus' appearance looks similar to The Darkness.

Behavior[]

Duratus will spawn upon a door being opened. When it spawns, players will be able to notice it due to its particles forming in a random part of the room. During this period, it is completely harmless and cannot damage players. After 5 seconds pass, its eye will open up and it will begin to damage players that move in its vision. It will take away 30 of their health points, with a cooldown of 1 second before being able to damage the player again.

Players will be safe from taking damage if they stand still, or enter a hiding spot available to them. Hiding is not recommended during a Duratus attack as it counts as moving during the entire entering and exiting animation. If another threat is active, then you should hide. Taking damage from Duratus is better than dying to another entity. Duratus despawns after 20 seconds, in where its eye will close, and its gas vanishes.

Changes in Rooms[]

A-400[]

After A-400, it will attack more and deal 5 more damage.

A-500[]

After A-500, it will start spawning less, but will deal 20 more damage.

A-600[]

After A-600, It will start spawning again, with an extremely high spawn chance.

A-700[]

After A-700, it will deal less damage but spawns much more.

A-800[]

After A-800, it will stop spawning temporarily.

A-900[]

After A-900 it will start spawning again. It can now attack alongside Pnevma, No Looker and Paralysis.

Tips[]

  • Duratus hates Pnevma and will drain it's life away if it moves while Duratus is active. Making Pnevma completely harmless during a Duratus attack.
    • Pnevma however, has absolutely no idea why it's being hurt until it's too late, and it's already a pile of bones on the floor.
  • Duratus will always damage moving players when it's active. Regardless if the player can see it or not, however has a range span of 2 rooms in both directions.

Trivia[]

  • Duratus looks similar to Claim from Endless doors, however this is completely unintentional.
  • Duratus was formed out of gases that were emitted from boats that drove by the office.
  • Duratus is only able to see things that are moving, which is why it can't damage someone who is standing still.
  • The name, "Duratus", is Latin for "Freeze".
